The CHIMU is a miniature, low cost Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS). AHRS units employ rate, acceleration, and magnetic sensing to provide a full inertial attitude and heading estimate, even under stationary conditions.

The Monkey 2010 board is a full featured prototyping platform intended to host CHIMU for attitude estimation.  The unit hosts an ARM7 LPC 1768 processor, U-Blox GPS module and antenna, spare analog and digital I/O capability, and dedicated, isolated servo output capability.  JTAG interface or serial bootload can be used to host code on the unit.

Text Box: The UBS Node interfaces your PC to the CHIMU module.  This node provides power to the unit as well as a serial port interface.  Advanced users can also interface a JTAG programming cable via this node to reprogram CHIMU units.

The Analog Node interfaces with the CHIMU unit to provide analog outputs of rate or angle based on the internal corrected sensor values.  A typical use for this module is to replace an FMA Co-Pilot sensor with an IMU module.

The Power Node is an extremely efficient switching power supply module.  The Power Node accepts voltages from 6 to 36V and outputs 5V up to 2 amps.  In addition, a scaled output signal is provided that allows a 3.3V referenced ADC to read the actual input voltage being supplied to the unit.
